Oh Happy Day

this is my day:

this morning i woke up and ate a big bowl of lucky charms.
then after i got dressed i wanted to smell pretty.
a little juicy couture squirt here, a little more there.

had a great conversation with my parents via emailing and phone calls.
gotta love technology.

read some great children's literature for my lesson plans that are due next week.
I even read a few books to some friends.
only a few more days till I can indulge in these.
only a few more months till I am wiggling my toes in the sand at the Shore.
remembering the amazing conversation i had with one of my best friends last night.
we talked about how excited and nervous we are about being teachers.
i can't wait until the summer, we practically live together.
oh friendship!
my boys won last night in a shootout.
sidney got the winning goal.
unfortunately it didn't count as a hat trick.
it was still just as exciting.

The Tales of a Student Intern

"It's time to go out and get a taste of the real world. Go to your practicum classes and get in 15 hours plus another 15 hours for your other class. Oh and don't forget your fieldwork notebook. Ask your teachers 3,725,890 questions, which they will love to answer. Make sure you wear your "little teacher clothes" every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Say you go to High Point and put a smile on your face. Now that's shouldn't be too hard..."

Ohhh the joys of being a Sophomore and having 2857897583275 things to do for your major plus trying to keep up with all your other homework and trying to fit your life somewhere in between!

Today marks the 5th hour I have been in one of my schools, I have 3 total.
This practicum isn't my favorite but the teacher has been very helpful and I have been able to learn a lot in such a short amount of time.
On Mon and Wed I go visit a 2nd grade classroom. The walls are PACKED with information and color. The teacher has 9 rules for her students which I have learned that is too much and that you should only have about 4-5 rules for your classroom. You are however allowed to have as many procedures as you want, because in reality you have a procedure for everything you do!
The last rule caught my attention, "NO SLACKING AT ANYTIME."
I was shocked to see this. It's 2nd grade, how much slacking could students do? There was even a metal sign on the wall to remind kids, "NO SLACKING AT ANYTIME." Ok, ok , ok I got it!!!!

And then there is my Kindergarten class... MY FAVORITE!
The students are so itty bitty and make me laugh.
As soon as I walk in the room they say hello and come up and give me a hug...
but ssshhh because they aren't suppose to!
Last Friday, I worked with a student to help him learn the Alphabet.
I didn't realize how hard it was and I give my Kindergarten teacher such applause for teaching me this and making sure I understood it.
The students had been learning about maps for the week and to finish off the week, they learned about treasure maps and got to go on a real treasure hunt! They were so excited and it was so much fun to watch them find their own treasure.
My teacher that I observe is a saint and it shows in her student's excitement to learn.

I hope that one day I get the same respect from my students.
Now I'm off to write a math lesson plan and a speech. Oh joy.
Until the next school day...

OH YEA... GOSSIP GIRL IS ON TONIGHTTTT

Are You There Spring? It's Me, Caroline.

Ok maybe Spring isn't late, maybe it's a little early here in NC. But it could be warmer, that would be nice. Then I could go layout at the pool.

It's time to loose the winter gear. Girls: No more uggs. No more leather boots. No more tights. No more scarves, hats, and gloves. No more carmel apple ciders or peppermint mocha at Starbucks. No more see-thru leggings with "long" sweatshirts... please? It's time to act as the ladies we were raised to be. Wear cute floral patterns. Dainty flats or wedges. Belts, belts, and more belts. Watches. Cute little jackets. Mix patterns, do it. {I dare you.} And as always, lots of layers.

Spring has sprung.

Hello, Spring. It's great to see you.

Pocketful of Sunshine

The Springtime sun has been warming my soul these past few days.
I have been craving summer more now than ever.
The temperature has been amazing which only means that NC will feel like heaven when I go back.
But I don't want to rush things, I love being home. After watching an episode of Heroes {thanks to M}
I am ready to start my day.

What shall I do first?
Go for a run? Do some yoga? Have Jillian Michaels kick my butt?
Maybe some breakfast first and then I will move on to my workout.

More friends have arrived home and I can't wait to play catch-up with them.
Friends truly are the greatest gift.

I'm missing my Kindergartners and 2nd graders today. I don't get to see them until next week.
Bah Humbug!

Homeward Bound

Friday after Midterms I flew home to my beautiful city.
Best friends came to the airport to pick me up.

I always love getting off the plane and feeling that excitement in my stomach as I take my first breath in Pittsburgh. It's the greatest feeling in the word, the feeling of home.  I had smooth travels and the only downfall was my 3 hour layover in Philly. Which is like a sin for my because I am in the land of the Flyers. YUCK. I wasted time by reading LA Candy... which saddens me to say that I loved the book and now I need to get the next book. Silly Lauren Conrad can write juicy novels.

M and A came to pick me up, smiles and laughter quickly followed.

And now they have blogs so please follow M at Believe Me and A at Princess and the Pea
They are new at this so give them lost of encouragement and leave plenty of comments!

Now it is time for me to begin my workout for the day. Stairs, Sprints, and Planks... OH MY!
I-pod Playlist will be rockin:

Meet Me Halfway
Carry Out
Young Money
BedRock
Rock That Body
Still Not Over You
Sinnerman
Girl Talk

P.S.
GOSSIP GIRL IS ON TONIGHT!!!!!

can't wait to see what gossip Miss Blair starts tonight

New Beginnings

I like the new path I have created for myself, I think I will stay here for awhile...

F*R*I*E*N*D*S

I am one lucky girl this week! I go home to Pittsburgh on Friday and get to see my best friends. I can't wait to be reunited! And to create new memories and think back on all the great ones we have already had. I am so lucky to call these girls my true friends.

"Always together, never apart. Maybe at distance, but never at heart."
