Chapter 2: The Basics

- HOW TO EDIT- She only buys what she likes and what looks good on her.

- TO INVEST IN "THE BONES"- (the classic trench, the little black dress...) and builds from there.

- TO BUY WITH DRAMA- She goes for the over-the-top, decadent item. If she falls in love, she takes it home.

- THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE OF SHOES- Lots of shoes.

- AND THE POWER  OF ACCESSORIES- Done just the right way.

- A GOOD TAILOR

1. HOW TO EDIT

-If it doesn't look good on you, it should not be in your closet.

- Mornings are rough enough; help yourself out a little bit. Edit your closet, then edit your shopping habits, and I promise you that being stylish will become much easier.

- Throw out what you don't wear and what doesn't look good on you. 

- Buy the right size

- Don't be sucked in by the sale tag

- Don't play it too safe (A closet full of safe choices is no fun!)

- Do not buy according to the trends

- Be ruthless when you edit (Do not keep items in your closet for sentimental reasons.)

And now you're ready to begin. 

2.  INVEST IN "THE BONES"

- The bones of your wardrobe are those essential staples that go with almost anything, never go out of style, and are enduringly chic. They are meant to be a blank canvas that you can layer on to. 

- The little black dress

- A classic men's white shirt

- Cashmere cardigan or turtleneck

- A trench coat

- Denim

- A man's classic watch

- Diamonds

- Ballet flats

- A classic high-heel pump

- A great bag (The bag, like the shoe, is a great place to have fun and play with colors, textures, and shapes.)

Everyone woman should have:

- A tote or shoulder bag

- A clutch

- A medium-sized handbag, with a chain link strap

- The must have bag: Chanel 2.55, Louis Vuitton Speedy, Gucci's Jackie O, Hermes Birkin

3. How to buy with drama

- An oversize cocktail ring

- A knock-'em-dead evening or cocktail dress

- A cuff

- A piece of fur

- Killer shoes

- An exotic bag

- A stand-out coat

Go a little crazy.

Be a little dramatic. 

Have a lot of fun.

Last night I went to my BFF's little sister's graduation at my high school. 

It brought back so many memories and I was so excited for all the new graduates. 

I remember feeling nervous but excited all at the same time. 

I had no idea what the next few years would bring me or if I would still be friends with the same people.

GET IT (DON'T SWEAT IT!) 1. Spritz texturizing spray on damp hair and let air-dry (this style also works well on the naturally gritty texture of hair that hasn’t been washed in a day). 2. Back-comb lightly at the crown for lift. 3. Pull into a ponytail at ear level and secure with an elastic. 4. Loosen pieces around the face.

WHAT MAKES IT COOL The intricacy of the fishtail is a fun twist on the side-braid trend, says Lewis's stylist Ben Cooke.

GET IT (DON'T SWEAT IT!) 1. Pull hair to one side, but don’t secure. 2. Divide into two even pieces. 3. Take a small section of hair from under one of the pieces and wrap it over that section and under the other. 4. Repeat, alternating sides through the length of the ponytail. 5. Secure with a clear band, then gently massage braid to pull out stray strands.

Updo with Headband

WHO'S WEARING IT Taylor Swift

WHAT MAKES IT COOL A basic headband dresses up a low pony and camouflages frizz on humid days. “Every girl should keep one in her purse. It will instantly pull your look together,” says Swift’s stylist, Enzo Angeleri.

GET IT (DON'T SWEAT IT!)1. Warm a dollop of curl cream between your palms and run them through damp strands. 2. Blow dry with a diffuser 60 percent of the way. 3. Pull curls into a ponytail, leaving tendrils loose (for a night-time look, pull hair into a high bun suggests Angeleri). 4. Pull on a headband so it rests along the highest plane of your forehead.

June has arrived!

Hopefully the rain will go away and not come again another day. 

-I want to layout in my backyard

-I want to make some little kid's day when I stop at his lemonade stand

-I want to go the pool

-When I go to the beach, I want to be able to actually go to the beach and not be stuck inside

-I want to paint my nails a fun summer color

-I want to go visit my friend at her lake house

-I want to drink my favorite Starbucks' drink as I read a good book
