Easter Recap

Because finals started this week I decided to stay in High Point for Easter with some friends. Everyone was laying out at the pool and enjoying the beautiful weather. Sunday afternoon my good friend and I went to The Proximity Hotel for a fabulous brunch!

I could have stayed there for hours!

This Right Here Is My... Pretty Boy Swag

High Point's Spring Concert was on Wednesday and GIRL TALK  performed! I was so excited for multiple reasons: 1. He's one of my favorite artists. 2. I had backstage passes to meet him! 3. I was setting up for the concert. 4. IT WAS GIRL TALK!

Wait... you've NEVER heard of Girl Talk??? Shame on you! Here are some of my favorite tracks.

I listened to his songs for weeks just preparing myself and getting exciting and when I finally saw Gregg Gillis (GT) while I was setting up it became very real for me. My bosses were teasing me the whole time saying they were going to get him to kiss me and if you know who Gregg is you'll know he looks homeless... so even though I burst out in laughter I wasn't having any of that. Then one of my bosses said they were going to see if he would "tweet" me on twitter, I was ALL for this! Once I got to the concert I pushed my way to the front in hopes of getting right in front of him. The front was packed so I had to be slightly satisfied by the side when all of a sudden this man in a grey sweatshirt came up to my friends and me and asked if we wanted to go on dance during Girl Talk's performance. UMMM WHAT? GO ON STAGE DURING THE CONCERT? ARE YOU KIDDING? YES OF COURSE! After a quick freak out moment my friends and I made our way to the stage and waited for Gregg to come on. I danced an hour and a half on stage and it was by far the coolest thing I have ever done. {Side Note: Gregg is from Pittsburgh so I made sure to tell him I am too!} Despite the fact that it was about 100 degrees during the concert I had the best time and can't wait to see another show.

IT'S FRIDAY!

I'm sure you have already heard of the song, Friday by Rebecca Black by now and if you haven't then I'm going to share this incredible piece with you now! Don't worry, I know the song is horrible but that's why it makes it so fun. Every Friday morning I wake up and play my Rebecca Black app. Yes, she even has her own app. The lyrics are garbage but that's what makes the song so catchy!

Gotta get down on Friday.
We we we so excited.

High Point even did their own parody.

I got FLASHED at High Point!

Just kidding... there was a Flash Mob today at HPU during the Open House! It was so cool, I think so of the incoming freshman knew what was going on because all the upperclassman were gathered around the basketball court looking down at the even, oh well! It was still a great success.

Here's the video I took:

And here's one from a different view:

The second one definitely gives you a better view of the entire event. Have you ever seen a flash mob? Or taken part in one? Happy Thursday!

The Tales of a Northerner.

Going to school in the South has it's advantages like sweet tea, hot summers, a long fall season, and biscuits. But then there are also the disadvantages. This past weekend I learned the term, "You're such a Northerner" soooo many times. Everything I do is normal to me and everything my Southern friends do is different. So being surrounded by some Southern Belles and Gents this weekend I got teased a bit. But it was all in good fun and provided much entertainment for us.

Friday night we went to this area called Broadway, it's basically a huge Strip Mall area.  I ate a delicious Chicken Barbeque Pizza, however, my cousin's version is much better. The pizza was very pricey and somewhat worth the cost. Before we were served our meals, the waitress brought out bread to which she referred it as, "Here's your dinner bread as a snack." We burst out laughing as soon as she was in the clear. She didn't even give us plates so we had to rest the bread on napkins and utensils. It wasn't pretty.

After dinner we walked around even though most of the stores were closed. There was a marina-like area in the middle of all the shops were HUGE catfish and ducks lived. There were what seemed to be hundreds of fish and I got so creeped out but still managed to take a picture.

Saturday we went to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and had SO MUCH FUN! We ate outside under the awning, luckily the weather wasn't too bad as I forgot to bring a sweater. I debuted my EMMA GRAHAM DESIGNS SKIRT! I couldn't wait to wear it and I know my roommate can't wait to either... (:

Life's A Beach.

Happy Monday! I'm back from Myrtle Beach, sun kissed and wishing I didn't leave. I had never been there but I had heard great things so I was excited to see what this beach was like. We left Thursday morning and packed the car as if we were going on a month's vacation. At least we didn't forget anything!

Before hitting the road we stopped at a local restaurant called The Dog House. It's definitely a new favorite and perfect for college students because everything on the menu is under $5! And the Sweet Tea is AMAZING. (Not to mention the 2 hot dogs and fries I got.) I have to take my mom and dad there when they come pick me up next month. I even got some to go!

Check out the old cash register!

We listened to some mixes that were probably made when we were in high school and maybe even middle school. I didn't care for much of the country songs but luckily we switched to my ipod. We sang the whole way down and shared quite a lot of laughs. Our co-pilot did some site seeing and snapped this picture from my iphone.

{I guess he was a little impatient to wait behind the gate.}

We were suppose to get a huge thunderstorm Saturday but luckily the storm only lasted for an hour so we laid poolside for 2 days and got a little too much sun, but it was so worth it! We were so lucky because there was a tornado watch in High Point and a few touched down in Raleigh.

More of my trip tomorrow. And let's not forget what tonight is, drumroll please...

She's 21!

I'm off to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the weekend to celebrate my roommate's 21st birthday! We've been planning this for about a month now and we've had a countdown ever since. Her cousin and sister are coming down as well as her best friend from high school. Can't wait to celebrate at the beach! Hopefully we have great weather so I can layout. Can't wait to share pictures with y'all. Have a great weekend!

A Night Out on the Town

I have to give my roommate all the credit on this one: I now love Thai food! There is a little hole in the wall Thai food restaurant near my school and occasionally this singer comes to perform. My roommate told me multiple times before I went how AMAZING this guy was as singing and how he should go on American Idol. Right away I thought UH OH this guy isn't really that good but let me tell you HE'S SO GOOD! We even got him to sing some Biebs. Definitely sang along to that number (:

Great food, music, and company! Hope y'all had a fantastic weekend and happy monday!

Lunch Date

Yesterday I had a lunch date with my boss and even though the weather hasn't been the greatest, I tried to add some color to my outfit in hopes that it would welcome Spring a little faster.

A scarf and long necklace is my go to accessory when I want to add some color and fun to my outfits.
What are yours?

Just Wanna Be Happy

Reasons to be happy this weekend:

Video chatting with my best friend and laughing with her for hours.
Went to a movie with my old roommates and loved spending time with them.
Went out to breakfast and cleaned my plate.
Receiving my EGD skirt in the mail.
{Emma Graham Designs}
Cleaning my room. {way overdue}
Taking care of my boss' adorable boxer, Mason. woof.
Calling my cousin and discussing her bridal shower.
Talking to a friend about how lucky we are to have older brothers.
{despite the fact they don't answer your text, tweet, fb message, or wall post!}

are you happy?
